Corporate History ________________
The architectural firm was created in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the winter of 1979 by Richard Joseph Lyles.
Successful in the Southwest, the firm opened a second design office in Atlanta, Georgia in 1985 in an effort to bring the "client first" approach to design into the South Eastern market. In the last decade, this has become a very successful marketing approach throughout the country.
This popularity is exactly what has allowed the corporation to develop into a full service offering complete Design, Architecture, Master Planning, Structural, Plumbing, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering, and Construction Management including Contractor Bidding and Negotiation. As of 1993, the firm had added complete Interior Design and Procurement to its list of client services.
Our firm is established and well experienced in master planning, programming and budgeting, designing and modeling, producing, bid negotiation and construction administration.
Richard Joseph Lyles & Associates maintains a creative and original design philosophy blended with a complete understanding of the clients needs and priorities. We offer the client the best in design and the most thorough design program to maximize the final product in its ability to meet the client's physical needs and also the client's budget. The firm has always been cost conscious to the requirements of not just the price of the clients project, but also to the design fees associated with the project.
It has been this "client needs point of view" coupled with our creativity and overall experience that has allowed the firm to be a strong influence within the design community and a popular alternative to the traditional design firm.
In 1998, the firm was registered with the Historic Preservation Division, DNR/Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation in the State of Georgia as Historic Preservation Architects. The firm was also approved on January 18, 1999 by the Department of Transportation for the State of Georgia to work on projects in Architecture 3.11 which are funded partially or in whole by GA DOT TEA-21.
The firm has always maintained Errors and Omissions Liability Insurance Coverage which protects our clients as well as ourselves in the event of human error on our part during the course of a project under construction. We are thorough and extremely honest and our integrity is an asset. We may not always tell you what you want to hear, but we believe by being up front about things are in the best interest of the project, our client and ourselves. We are not always the lowest bid, but we feel we are the best bid. The quality, thoroughness and a willing attitude helps make us the best choice.
